NT conference 2026. Impressions & Considerations.

On September 21, 2026, I attended the NT conference, which, as stated by the organizers, is "the largest and central Slovenian technological-entrepreneurial conference, known for its high-level content, relaxed community networking, and a splendid seaside venue".

NT conference 2026. The 31st Edition.

This year, from September 21 to 23, 2026, the 31st edition took place in Portorož (Slovenia) at the Grand Hotel Bernardin. As in all previous editions, the event was organized by MPG Plus d.o.o., a company based in Ljubljana (Slovenia) with agencies also operating in Croatia, Serbia, and North Macedonia.

The event was attended by over 1,800 participants, featuring more than 130 presentations delivered by over 110 speakers.

Among other things, I had the opportunity to meet the director of MPG Plus, Mr. Rok Mišvelj. I thank him for dedicating his valuable time to me and for the pleasant conversation, during which he explained the history of the event and the decision, after 30 years, to "internationalize" it.

This "evolution" involved intensifying communications in English, inviting a greater number of international speakers, creating new diversified content, and conducting a large portion of the sessions in English.

As stated by the organizers in a blog article titled "A new decade. A new NT":

NT Conference 2026: The Agenda.

The event agenda featured two main Content Pillars:

The event took place over three days: September 21, 2026 (Business Day), September 22, 2026, and September 23, 2026.

NT conference 2026. Technology.

Technology is the "heart" of the NT Conference. The program offered a wide range of practical workshops, as well as in-depth and diverse sessions on established and widely used technologies, including: "Security, Identity & Compliance," "AI, Data & Analytics," "DevOps & App Development," and "User Productivity & Business Solutions."

The sessions and workshops were led by prominent figures from the Slovenian and international MVP community, ensuring a high-level transfer of knowledge, insights, and practical expertise to empower the entire IT community, while also dedicating special attention to the latest developments across the full spectrum of information and communication technologies.

NT conference 2026. The Business Day.

The "Business Day" was an intensive day focused on the future of business, held on September 21, 2026. It was the only day I attended, featuring three thematic tracks:

• The Frontier Company: From AI Experiments to Competitive Advantage.
• Human Advantage: Leadership, Work, and Organizations in the AI Era.
• Trusted Europe: Europe is entering a new phase where digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, and responsible AI are becoming strategic corporate priorities.

This year's guest speaker was Andreas Ekström, a Swedish journalist, bestselling author, and internationally recognized digital futurist. He presented his most requested keynote, titled "Organic Intelligence," in which Andreas argued that the future is not defined by the AI we purchase, but by the Organic Intelligence we hire, develop, and empower.

NT conference 2026. Catering and Social Events.

Overall, I was very impressed by the social events.

To begin with, there was the "Business Lunch," a buffet lunch held in the restaurant hall, offering a varied selection of dishes. In the late afternoon, the "Peer2Beer" event took place in the square in front of the hotel; it was a very enjoyable and well-appreciated occasion where beer was offered to participants, providing a great opportunity to socialize and chat in a relaxed atmosphere.

Some sponsors also offered food and drinks at their stands.

Noteworthy were the celebrations held at the end of the day on September 21, 2026, with the "Evening Party," featuring high-quality and very diverse food.

During the evening, two DJs competed in a challenge called "Manual vs Automatic," playing excellent 80s and 90s music that entertained and relaxed me, getting many people on the dance floor.

NT conference 2026. Impressions.

I must extend my warmest congratulations to the organizers for their choice of venue. Having the sea right in front of us and the view of the sunset over the water in the evening created a truly interesting and pleasant atmosphere. This was my first time attending this event, and I must admit I was pleasantly impressed by the quality of the conference, as well as the availability and kindness of the organizing team.

I must also point out that the graphics, the colors used, and the "slogans" featured in the communications—which I was able to see in person at the event—were very engaging, stimulating, and intriguing!

NT conference 2026. Considerations.

As with other events I have attended (you can find a summary article of my visits to various events and holidays between 2023 and 2025 here), I had the opportunity to learn new things, meet people, and make new acquaintances on both a personal and professional level. The relaxed and convivial atmosphere fostered knowledge sharing and the exchange of opinions.

I will consider participating again next year at NT Conference 2027. I believe it is an interesting event, even if perhaps too technical for my background; nonetheless, it can provide valuable insights and, above all, thanks to its international outlook, offer new opportunities for business development and professional and personal growth.
