MSP Day 2024. Impressions and considerations.
MSP Day 2024: impressions and considerations following my visit to the event on June 6 and 7, 2024, in Riccione (Italy).
Once again this year, as mentioned in my previous article, I attended the MSP Day, the Italian event dedicated to MSPs (Managed Service Providers), i.e., companies and professionals providing managed IT services, which took place on June 6 and 7, 2024, in Riccione (Italy).

MSP Day 2024: the seventh edition
This year marked the seventh edition of the event organized by Achab, the Italian distributor of “software and serenity”.
Daria Trespidi, Executive Director of Achab, welcomed attendees and opened the event, while Andrea Veca, General Director of Achab, presented the current state of the MSP market in Italy. Vera Tucci, Operational Director of T-Consulting, served as Chairwoman for this year’s edition and introduced the speakers who would deliver their presentations.

There were numerous booths with the event sponsors, who this year were all concentrated on a single floor where the plenary hall is located, along with catering services.
MSP Day 2024: presentations
Numerous presentations were held by representatives of sponsors (and others) in both the main hall and parallel rooms, covering a wide range of topics—from “human” telecommunications in the era of artificial intelligence to compliance guidance under NIS2 for MSPs in the digital security era. Discussions included Vulnerability Assessment as an opportunity for MSPs and Cloud Storage designed for MSPs, naturally with extensive focus on RMM, security/cybersecurity services, artificial intelligence (AI), email management, defensive postures, backup, cyber threat prevention, monitoring, managed and distributed cloud services, and email archiving.
Of particular interest, at least for me, was the presentation on process automation by Ben Jenkins, as well as the “colorful” presentation by Brian Turnbow, who appeared in shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and carrying a surfboard, speaking Italian with “Californian” flair, greatly engaging and stimulating the audience.

Many terms seen, heard, and used: Zero Trust, MDR, SOC, EDR, XEDR, XDR, MDR, WAF, ITSM, MSP, MSSP. To learn more about their meanings, take a look at my article.
Impressions
Very interesting is the presence of some 100% Italian companies that, in terms of creativity and innovation, have nothing to envy from international companies.
Notably, the participation this year of Nanosystems, a company from Ascoli Piceno (Italy), which develops the remote access/support/monitoring solution called Supremo and a backup solution, Uranium Backup.
A parallel session featured the world premiere presentation of Supremo Security Add-On, which integrates LECS, an AI-based security module powered by the cutting-edge Terisia algorithm, entirely developed by Cyber Evolution, an innovative startup from Ascoli Piceno (Italy).

Another notable Italian company present for the first time this year was Deepser, a company based in Schio (Vicenza, Italy) that develops the eponymous ITSM solution, which truly impressed me as it offers a complete and fully customizable solution that, in my opinion, has nothing to envy from solutions offered by much larger companies.
I also want to mention Qboxmail, an Italian company based in Prato (Italy), which develops a complete and professional cloud solution for managing business emails, tasks, and calendars, including native email inbox protection, automatic backup, reputation management (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC), and full GDPR compliance.
In the remote access/support sector, AnyDesk was present, a solution developed by the eponymous German company, which this year had its own booth hosting the distributor Aretek and their staff.

Considerations
I reaffirm my full satisfaction with this event and believe that this type of event always brings personal growth, both in terms of knowledge/perception of the IT market and in terms of personal relationships: face-to-face meetings with representatives of various vendors are certainly very different from “virtual” meetings via email, social media, or e-meetings.
As last year, a note of merit is due to the catering: Thursday’s apericena was nothing short of spectacular; the quality and variety of food were fantastic throughout the event.

In conclusion, what can I say...it was definitely worth it!
If you were unable to attend the event, you can already register now to participate in the 2025 edition, which will take place on June 5 and 6, 2025.
Last but not least, I renew my compliments and extend a big thank you to all the Achab staff for the perfect organization and success of the event.
