I'll be at CloudFest 2025!

I will be visiting the CloudFest 2025 event, which will take place from 17 to 20 March 2025 at the Europa-Park theme park (Rust, Germany).

From March 18th to 21st, 2025, I will be visiting the event CloudFest 2025, which, according to the organizers, will be "the number 1 global event on internet infrastructure, connecting the global cloud computing industry: you can form partnerships that will help you achieve your business goals and have a great time".

This year's theme is titled "The Human Edge. Finding Your Place in an AI World", as explained by the organizers, "Machines can predict, but humans can imagine. We have moved from the era where we wanted the right answers to the era where we need the right questions".

The event will take place from March 17th to 20th, 2025 at Europa-Park theme park in Rust, Germany, with around 9.000 participants expected, over 250 speakers attending, more than 150 partners present, and attendees coming from over 80 nations.

Why participate in CloudFest

As stated on the official website, here's why you should attend: "If you work in cloud, you need to be at CloudFest. Get ready to join the real decision makers shaping the future of the internet. Industry leaders make big strides at CloudFest: 69% of attendees are C-level or senior executives. Whether you're a global hyperscaling platform or an emerging service provider, your pathway to greater success starts from this event. As participants or partners, CloudFest is where you build your brand, form strategic alliances, and embark on the road to growth in a truly unique environment".

Industry leaders come to CloudFest for:

  • Form new partnerships to achieve your business goals
  • Be the first to see new technologies as soon as they are unveiled
  • Take advantage of non-stop networking in a European amusement park
  • Experience the best parties in the industry

The CloudFest Program

The event's program (here the full schedule) is quite extensive, divided into four days starting from March 17th, 2025, which will be reserved access day ending with "Come2Gather in the Streets" event followed by open-access days from March 18th to 20th, 2025 featuring numerous sponsors' presentations, training sessions, and masterclasses. The event will conclude with a BierFest on the evening of March 20th, 2025.

Notable is the "Fireside Chat" with Albert Einstein, reimagined as a digital ghost in his office at Princeton University in the 1950s, which will take place on March 18th, 2025 from 5pm to 6pm, here is the link with all the information.

How to get to CloudFest

As mentioned above, CloudFest will take place at the Europa-Park theme park in Rust, Germany.

Europe-Park is located in the heart of Europe, at the crossroads between Germany, France, and Switzerland, and can be reached by various means (plane, train, car, bus), as indicated on the organizers' page.

Shuttle Service (free)

Very interesting that the organizers provide visitors with a free shuttle service: one connecting Offenburg Hbf train station to Europa-Park main venues, another taking participants staying at Hotel Krønasår to and from CloudFest sessions and networking events, and yet another connecting CloudFest to hotels in Ringsheim.

Social Events and...Culinary

Last topic, but not least important, "social" and culinary events....

Lunches will be held (free of charge) throughout all days and four evenings of celebrations, March 17th, 2025 named "Come2Gather in the Streets", March 18th, 2025 named "Shamrock Shake Party", March 19th, 2025 named "ConneXion Party" and March 20th, 2025, at the conclusion of the event, named "BierFest".

The Server Thrwing

Not to be forgotten is 'Server Throwing', subtitled 'Naked Metal vs. Raw Power", cited by organizers with a brief introduction: 'For over 10 years, servers have been thrown into the basements of data centers, organized by the Dutch Cloud Community. No one was allowed to speak about it until today. The World Server Throwing Association (WSTA) brings this intense underground sport, which has been criticized as 'unnecessarily brutal for servers,' into the mainstream for the whole cloud community to enjoy. Now we will find out who is strong, badass, and keeps their own data center clean!'

At this link there is all the information about the event, which includes a day of trials on March 18th, 2025 and a final on March 19th, 2025.
